TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $2,679, offset by the Second Council District one-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide funds to the LAWineFest, Inc. who hosted the LAWineFest at the Pike Outlets on June 1st and 2nd; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $2,679 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

The Winefest LA is a group that hosts a winetasting event. This year, they came into Downtown Long Beach. They have been a great community partner and have helped our Library Foundation raise money. Each year, they select at least one local nonprofit as beneficiary. This Council recommendation requests a funding transfer to contribute to this event using Second District priority funds in the amount of $2,679.

This matter was reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on May 21, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager Department to provide funds to the LA WineFest Inc., who hosted the annual LAWinefest event at the Pike Outlets on June 1st and June z=. The total appropriation to increase in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department in the amount of $2,679 is offset by a decrease of appropriation of Second Council District one-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. Completing this work is anticipated to result in a minimal impact to staff hours beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and a minimal impact on City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION
