TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $9,200, offset by the First Council District one-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide funds to the Willmore City Heritage Association who will be hosting their annual Season of Live Arts and Music (S.L.A.M.) event; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $9,200 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

The Willmore City Heritage Association organizes an annual Season of Live Arts and Music (S.L.A.M.) event at Cesar Chavez Park, featuring musical performances, poetry, and theater. This Council recommendation requests a funding transfer to contribute to this event using First District priority funds in the amount of $9,200. The Parks, Recreation and Marine Department will provide an additional $2,200 for the event using budgeted funds in the Special Advertising and Promotion Fund Group that are allocated for additional park concerts in the First District.

This matter was reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on May 10, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager Department to provide funds to the Willmore City Heritage Association who will be hosting the annual Season of Live Arts and Music (S.L.A.M.) event. The total appropriation increase in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department in the amount of $9,200 is offset by a decrease of appropriation of First Council District one-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. Completing this work is anticipated to result in a minimal impact to staff hours beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and a minimal impact on City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION
