TITLE

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund (GF) in the Citywide Activities Department (XC) to offset a transfer to the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department.

DISCUSSION
The Fourth District Council Office first received requests for all-inclusive play equipment for Los Altos Park in 2018. As a result, three adaptive swings were installed, and the project was well received by the surrounding neighborhoods. Since the initial project, we have been working with the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department to identify other parks in the Fourth Council District that are lacking all-inclusive play equipment. Our goal is to have children of all ability levels to be able to utilize each playground in the Fourth Council District.

This matter was reviews by Budget Manager, Grace H. Yoon, on April 1, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation provides District Priority Funds to support the installation of adaptive swings at Stearns Champion Park. The total appropriation increase of $4,490 in the General Fund (GF) in the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department (PR) will be offset by a decrease in appropriation of the Fourth Council District one-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund (GF) in the Citywide Activities Department (XC). Completing this work is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff time beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.
