TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund (GF) in the City Manager Department (CM) by $12,500, offset by the Third Council District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department (XC).

 

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund (GF) in the Citywide Activities Department (XC) by $12,500 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department (CM).

 

DISCUSSION

City Manager's Office of Special Events and Filming will be conducting a Touch-A-Truck event on behalf of Council District 3 on March 24, 2019 at the Granada Avenue parking lot in Belmont Shore (in front of Rosie's Dog Beach). This event has been a recent annual event and is very popular. This event provides a significant public benefit by providing entertainment and a learning environment for children and their families The City Manager's Office of Special Events and Filming has determined that Community Action Team (CAT) has current Federal and State registration. CAT will be making a sponsorship contribution of $5,000.00 towards the event. The sponsorship will be made payable to the City of Long Beach and will be used in conjunction with the Priority Funds transfer for the event.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

City Manager's Office of Special Events staff time and City vehicles and staff have been requested by to be part of the event, and are included in the Council District 3 Priority Funds transfer.

 

The total appropriation increase of $12,500.00 in the General Fund (GF) in the City Manager Department (CM) is offset by a decrease of appropriation of Third Council District One-Time District Priority Funds in the General Fund (GF) in the Citywide Activities Department (XC).
