TITLE

Recommendation to receive and file an update from the City Manager on the status of the restoration of Fire Engine 17 including funding, staffing, and equipment.

DISCUSSION

On February 26, 2019 the Public Safety Committee received a report on the status of the restoration of Fire Engine 17. The restoration of this engine remains the Fire Department's number one priority, and the impacts to its restoration would be a significant benefit to Fire Department response times. Additionally, staffing of the restoration as well as an interim apparatus have been identified pending the structural funding of this important public safety asset.

At the February 26, 2019 meeting the Public Safety Committee approved a motion to refer the recommendation to the City Council to receive a report from the City Manager on the current status of the restoration of Fire Engine 17.
