TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund (GF) in the Legislative Department (LD) by $8,000, offset by the Second Council District One-time District Priority funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department (XC) to provide funding for a Second Council District Internship program; and
Decrease appropriations in the General Fund (GF) in the Citywide Activities Department (XC) by $8,000 to offset a transfer to the Legislative Department.
DISCUSSION
The Second Council District will be implementing an internship program that will be led by a temporary part-time staff whose purpose will be to provide training and mentorship for undergraduate and graduate students on policy research and development, collaborate with key stakeholders to provide a long-term workforce leadership development pathway that is sustainable for macro graduate students, work with neighborhoods, document council and committee meetings, and conduct constituent casework. Per the City's "Procedures for Implementation of Divide by Nine Funding," the Second Council District is requesting to transfer one-time District Priority funds to the Second Council District's budget to implement the Internship Program.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total appropriation increase of $8,000 in the General Fund (GF) in the Legislative Department (LD) is offset by a decrease of appropriation of one-time District Priority funds in the General Fund (GF) in the Citywide Activities Department (XC).
