DISCUSSION

As required by the California Elections Code, the City Attorney has prepared a resolution declaring the results of the Special Municipal Election held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, to adopt Measure AAA, Authority of Long Beach City Auditor to Conduct Performance Audits; Measure BBB, City of Long Beach Term Limits Amendment; Measure CCC, City of Long Beach Ethics Commission; Measure DDD, City of Long Beach Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission; and Measure WW, Long Beach Hotel Workers Measure (Exhibit A).

 

As certified by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, the results are as follows:

This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Amy R. Webber on November 30, 2018.

 

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS

Approval of the recommended action will meet the provisions of California Elections Code Sections 10262 and 10264, and Long Beach Charter Section 1910, which establishes the deadline to certify the election results.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

Appropriations have been made in FY18 budget relating to the November 6, 2018 Special Municipal Election.
