TITLE

Recommendation to adopt resolution declaring the results of the General Municipal Election held on June 5, 2018.  (Citywide)

 

DISCUSSION

The City Attorney has prepared a resolution declaring the results of the General Municipal Election held on June 5, 2018, to elect members to City Council Districts 5 and 7, and adopt Measure M, Utility Revenue Transfer Charter Amendment. (Exhibit A).

 

As certified by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, the results are as follow:

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS

Approval of the recommended action on July 10, 2018 will meet the provisions of California Elections Code Sections 10262 and 10263, and Long Beach Charter Section 200, which establishes the start of each Council Member term as commencing on the third Tuesday of July following the date of the election.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

Appropriations have been made in FY18 budget relating to the June 5, 2018 General Municipal Election.
