Recommendation to receive and file a presentation from GRID Alternatives-Greater Los Angeles in Celebrating 200 Solar Installs in the City of Long Beach.

DISCUSSION

GRID Alternatives is a nonprofit solar installation organization whose vision is a transition to clean, renewable energy that is inclusive of every community. In over a decade of servicing the Greater Los Angeles area, GRID Alternatives has installed 1480 systems, 5,081 Kilowatts installed, saved homeowners $41,789,586 in energy bills, prevented 99,286 tons of greenhouse gas emissions and trained approximately 5,227 participants for good green jobs.

In Long Beach alone, there have been 200 solar installations at no cost to residents, providing low income community members with clean renewable ehergy and energy bills reduced between 50-90%.

GRID Alternatives has been a distinguished partner with affordable housing organizations, job training groups, government agencies, municipalities, utilities, veterans and citizen reentry organizations, and with local disadvantaged communities to help families save money. This presentation celebrates their hard-working efforts and acknowledges the positive impacts their installations have made to the Long Beach community and environment, and we look forward to supporting their continued efforts to provide ciean energy for all.
