The City has adopted a series of health, violence prevention, and general plan policies to address health disparities, including persistent trauma on residents impacted by high levels of crime, poverty, and limited economic mobility. Funds from First 5 LA will support the ongoing work of the Long Beach Trauma and Resiliency Informed Taskforce (LBTRIT). The Health Department will serve as the backbone entity to drive this Citywide effort to increase knowledge of best practices and work to enhance cross-system collaboration to respond to communities impacted by persistent trauma.
This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Linda T. Vu on March 22, 2018 and by Revenue Management Officer Geraldine Alejo on March 30, 2018.
