TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute a quitclaim deed to Current Living, LP, to convey the City’s interest in the current utility line easement at 707 East Ocean Boulevard; and
Accept Categorical Exemption No. CE 18-006. (District 2)
DISCUSSION
Current Living, LP, a Delaware limited partnership, owner of the 17-story mixed-use building at 707 East Ocean Boulevard, has requested to quitclaim the easement located within the vacated Lime Avenue (Exhibit A). Construction plans for the site include quitclaiming the easement to meet future project needs.
The customary investigation was conducted involving public utilities and interested City departments, and there were no objections to the proposed easement to be quitclaimed.
In conformance with the California Environmental Quality Act, Categorical Exemption No. CE 18-006 was approved for this project (Exhibit B).
This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Linda T. Vu on February 1, 2018 and by Revenue Management Officer Geraldine Alejo on February 2, 2018.
TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
City Council action is requested on February 20, 2018, so the owner can meet funding and construction deadlines.
FISCAL IMPACT
A quitclaim processing fee of $2,846 was deposited in the General Fund (GF) in the Public Works Department (PW). There is no local job impact associated with this recommendation.
