TITLE

Recommendation to Increase appropriation in the Special Advertising and Promotions Fund (SR 133) in the City Manager Department (CM) by $45,000, offset by the Sixth Council District one-time infrastructure funds transferred from the Capital Projects Fund (CP) in the Public Works Department (PW) to support the 30th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade and Celebration.

DISCUSSION

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade and Celebration commemorates the courage, humility, and ultimate sacrifice of the historical civil rights activist. The parade honors Dr. King's life and dedication to service by showcasing schools, organizations and community groups that strive to keep his timeless values alive. This is a parade and celebration the community looks forward to every year as it attracts thousands of people from the Greater Long Beach area. Funds will help cover rentals costs for tables, chairs, dance floor, stage, Health Pavilion, etc.

FISCAL IMPACT

The total appropriation increase of $45,000 in the Special Advertising and Promotions Fund (SR 133) in the City Manager Department (CM) is offset by a transfer of one-time infrastructure funds from the Capital Funds Project (CP) in the Public Works Department (PW).
