TITLE
Recommendation to suspend Council rule contained in Long Beach Municipal Code 2.03.020 (B) to cancel the meeting of November 21, 2017 in honor of Thanksgiving Day that week.
DISCUSSION
Officially celebrated as a federal holiday since President Abraham Lincoln, Thanksgiving Day is an annual opportunity to celebrate with family and friends while giving thanks. Due to many resident and staff travel plans, there will be little need to have a meeting the same week as Thanksgiving Day.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact, other than cost savings from not having a meeting.
