TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit two Stipulations with Request for Award for approval by the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay 1) $207,697.50 for Stipulations with Request for Award with a life pension thereafter of $239.65 per week, and 2) separate authority to pay $41,140 in compliance with the Appeals Board Order for Ronald Wiggins.
DISCUSSION
Ronald Wiggins has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of his employment with the City of Long Beach. The Economic Development and Finance Committee on September 19, 2017, • approved the submission to the
Workers' Compensation Appeals Board of two Stipulations with Request for Award by the City and Ronald Wiggins, based upon 1) a 91 percent disability rating with further provisions for a life pension at the rate of $239.65 per week after the permanent disability has been paid, with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary, and 2) a 38 percent disability rating, with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary.
SUGGESTED ACTION
