TITLE

Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit Stipulations with Request for Award for approval by the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay $86,270.93 plus $5,443 in retroactive temporary total disability benefits, in compliance with the Appeals Board Order for Nicolasa Chavez.

DISCUSSION

Nicolasa Chavez has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of her employment with the City of Long Beach.  The Economic Development and Finance Committee on July 18, 2017, approved the submission to the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board of Stipulations with Request for Award by the City and Nicolasa Chavez, based upon a 56 percent disability rating and retroactive temporary total disability benefits of $5,443.00, with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary.

Approve recommendation.
