DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into a contract with The Public Restroom Company, for the furnishing and delivery of a prefabricated restroom building at Marina Vista Park. The existing Marina Vista Park restroom facility, consisting of four men’s stalls and four women’s stalls, is outdated and does not comply with current ADA requirements and California Assembly Bill 1732, requiring all single-user toilet facilities in any business establishment, place of public accommodation, or government agency to be identified as all-gender toilet facilities. The building will have eight all-gender, individually accessed stalls. Installation of the prefabricated restroom at Marina Vista Park will be handled through the City’s Job Order Contract (JOC), which is estimated to be in place in April 2017.

The bid was advertised in the Long Beach Press-Telegram on January 10, 2017, and 4,274 potential bidders were notified of the bid opportunity. Of those bidders, 36 downloaded the bid via the City’s electronic bid system. The bid document was made available from the Purchasing Division, located on the seventh floor of City Hall, and the Division’s website at www.longbeach.gov/purchasing .
