DISCUSSION
In accordance with Municipal Code Section 2.18.090, the Report for the Long Beach Airport Advisory Commission for the period January 2007 - June 2008 is attached for City Council review. The Report details the Commission's activities over the past 18 months and includes recommendations for involvement during 2009. In the past, annual reports were developed on a calendar year basis. Beginning in 2008, the Commission's annual report will be based on a July 1 - June 30 year, to coincide with Commissioner's terms.
 
The report recommends continuation of the Commission, including continuing on-going and significant involvement in community education and outreach, and Airport policy review and recommendations.
 
TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
This issue is not time critical.

SUGGESTED ACTION
Approve recommendation.
