TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Manager to execute the First Amendment to Permit No. 30285 with American Heritage Marine Institute, LLC, for a name change to Children's Maritime Foundation.  (District 2)

DISCUSSION
On June 19, 2007, the City Council authorized the execution of Permit No. 30285 with American Heritage Marine Institute, LLC, (American Heritage) for the purpose of operating an educational charter boat service from the tallship American Pride, in Rainbow Harbor (Attachment 1). In September 2008, American Heritage submitted a formal request for a name change to Children's Maritime Foundation, a fully certified nonprofit organization. Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine staff have validated the name change to ensure that all required paperwork has been submitted to the California Secretary of State and the Internal Revenue Service. A permit amendment is required to reflect the name change. All other provisions of the permit will remain the same.

This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Gary J. Anderson on October 21, 2008, and Budget Management Officer Victoria Bell on October 21,2008.
