Recommendation to receive and file a presentation about the Green Prize Festival.
DISCUSSION
The Green Prize Festival is a one day event highlighting urban farmers, green chefs, live entertainment, artists, green technology, sustainable transportation, environmental organizations as well as education through workshop demonstrations and guest speakers.
The event also features a free bike valet, eco-friendly vendors and sustainable transportation. The Green Prize Festival has an annual award program where community leaders from various green industries are recognized for their work in creating a green and sustainable Long Beach.
This year's Green Prize Festival will take place on Saturday April 30, 2016 from 11:00am to 7:00pm at Admiral Kidd Park in West Long Beach (District 7). The Green Prize Festival was held in Bixby Park (District 2) in 2014 and at Chavez Park (District 1) in 2015.
