TITLE
Recommendation to approve the Mayor's nominations to the Long Beach Unified School District Joint Use Committee.
DISCUSSION
The Long Beach Unified School District Joint Use Committee was created to provide a forum for City Councilmembers and School Board Members to discuss opportunities to work together. Issues discussed may include joint use of resources including land as well as shared concerns such as the environment, public safety and services to our community.
The Long Beach Unified School District Joint Use Committee is comprised of five members: three City Councilmembers including the chair who are nominated by the Mayor and confirmed by council, and two School Board Members selected by the LBUSD Superintendent
The Mayor nominates the following members to the committee:
Lena Gonzalez, Chair
Rex Richardson, Member
AI Austin, Member
