DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into a contract with ABM Parking Services (ABM), to provide airport parking operations and management at the Long Beach Airport (Airport). ABM will provide field staffing, field management, and field parking operations for the Airport’s parking system, which includes Lot A, Lot B and the employee parking lots. A 25 percent contingency is necessary to accommodate additional services from ABM, such as software and equipment upgrades, market and pricing analysis, staffing augmentation during peak seasons and unforeseen maintenance and repairs.

A Request for Proposals (RFP) was advertised in the Long Beach Press-Telegram on August 27, 2015, and 3,879 potential proposers specializing in professional, scientific, architectural, and technical services were notified of the RFP opportunity. Of those proposers, 37 downloaded the RFP via our electronic bid system. The RFP document was also made available from the Purchasing Division, located on the seventh floor of City Hall, and the Division’s website at www.longbeach.gov/purchasing. An RFP announcement was also included in the Purchasing Division’s weekly update of Open Bid Opportunities, which is sent to 22 local, minority and women-owned business groups.
