DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into a contract with All American Asphalt for traffic improvements to Shoreline Drive, between Ocean Boulevard and Linden Avenue. The main purpose of the project is to provide enhanced pedestrian, bicyclist and vehicular access to the Alamitos Beach Parking Lot and beach area located at Shoreline Drive and Ocean Boulevard. The project consists of installing traffic signal improvements at Shoreline Drive and the Alamitos Beach Access Road, new striping and signagefor a Class 2 bike path, a new pedestrian sidewalk, landscaping and irrigation improvements, and an ADA accessible ramp from the intersection of Shoreline Drive and the Alamitos Beach Access Road, to the Alamitos Beach Parking Lot.

The bid was advertised in the Press-Telegram on September 28, 2015, and 3,607 potential bidders specializing in construction were notified of the bid opportunity. Of those bidders, 78 downloaded the bid via our electronic bid system. The bid document was made available from the Purchasing Division, located on the seventh floor of City Hall, and the Division's website at www.longbeach.gov/purchasing.
