Josephine Castellanos is an active member at Saint Athanasius Catholic Church, teaching citizenship classes there and at Saint Lucy's. Over the past ten years, Ms. Castellanos has helped more than 1,500 men and women reach their goal of becoming American citizens. She also serves on the board of the Immigrants' Rights Coalition, is the vice chair of Interfaith Community Organization, and is a member of the Chief of Police Latino Advisory Group.

Alvaro Castillo served on The Community Development Commission from 2001-2007, where he contributed to ongoing improvements in the City. Castillo currently serves as the Vice President/Sr. Human Resource Business Partner for Union Bank and is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management, Professionals in Human Resources Association and the Northern California Human Resources Association.

David Clement is President and a founding member of the North Alamitos Neighborhood Association and serves on the Executive Committee for the Friends of Bixby Park. He is a graduate of the Neighborhood leadership Program class of 2007 and has previously volunteered with the U.S. Soccer Federation, the American Youth Soccer Organization and Jewish Big Brothers/Sisters.

Jose Flores began doing volunteer work while still attending grammar school where he served under Officer William J. Myers and the long Beach Police Department Junior Traffic Control. One of the co-founders of The Central Neighborhood Advisory Committee (CNAC), he was instrumental in planting more than 200 trees. He has volunteered with the city for two years as a Senior Police Partner and for the past 17 years at the Youth Services Division of the long Beach Police Department.

Richard Lindemann is a retired retail sales manager and a commercial photographer. A graduate of Millikan High, long Beach City College and Cal State Dominguez Hills in business management, marketing and math, Mr. Lindemann has been a fourth district resident for 35 years.

Miles Nevin holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Cal State long Beach, and is currently the Executive Director for the nonprofit California State Student Association. Prior to this position, he was an Education Contributor at the long Beach Post and a Marketing and Public Relations Manager at Children Today.

Jeff Price has previously served on the long Beach Housing Development Company Board and the long Beach Public Safety Advisory Commission. Jeff is currently serving on the State of California's Court Ordered and Traffic Related Debt Task Force as a Senate Appointee and previously served on California Council on Criminal Justice. Jeff graduated cum laude from California State University, long Beach with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Whittier law School. Jeff is a partner at Morrison, laRossa, Price & Iturrioz and practices Workers' Compensation law and Family law.

Suely Saro currently serves as a Field Representative for the Office of California State Senator Ricardo lara. Prior to this role, she served as Health Policy Advocate for Asian Americans Advancing Justice, los Angeles, where she was responsible for policy analysis and implementation, community outreach, and coalition building. Saro holds a MPA from California State University, long Beach and is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education in Organizational leadership from the University of la Verne. She currently serves as Co-Founder and Board Chair of the Woman for Woman Foundation and as a Women's Policy Institute Fellow for the Women's Foundation of California.

  • Rick McGilton-McGlamery- At Large Seat - District 3 Resident Reappointment to first full term
  • Phyllis Arias has more than 30 years of experience in higher education at Long Beach City College, including work on personnel policies and procedures, budget management, governance structures, planning processes, curriculum development and grants development and implementation. She served on the College's Academic Senate, Senate Executive Committee, Academic Council, and College Planning Committee, and was elected President of the Academic Senate.
  • Rick McGilton-McGlamery currently serves on the Civil Service Commission and is a former Citizen Police Complaint Commissioner. Rick has 25 years of federal employment experience serving as an Equal Employment Opportunity specialist for the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Customs Service. Mr. McGilton-McGlamery was appointed to the Civil Service Commission by Mayor Foster in 2014 to fill the final year of an open term.

  • Stella Ursua is the President of Green Education Inc. and a Principle at Stellar Sustainable Consulting. Stella has served as a Commissioner with the Long Beach Sustainable Cities Commission, with the Long Beach Community College District Citizens Oversight Committee, and as a Steering Committee member for Building Healthy Communities. Stella is the Founder of local Earth Day event the Green Prize Festival, and also launched the Southern California Green Economic Council.

Ronald Cruz graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a degree in Geography, and then took his first job was as a City Planner in Long Beach. Mr. Cruz spent five years at City Hall before moving on to a private urban development firm. With 9 years of planning experience, Ronald lives in the fourth district and has a Master's Degree in Business Administration from CSULB.

 

Andy Perez is currently employed in the public affairs bureau of Union Pacific Railroad, as Director of Port Affairs for Long Beach, Los Angeles, Oakland and San Francisco. A graduate of California State University, Dominguez Hills, Perez has long served on the Boards of Directors for Long Beach Boys and Girls Clubs and the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Donita Van Horik is a Long Beach City College scholarship recipient, and a graduate of Long Beach City College. Following her graduation from Cal Poly Pomona with a BS cum laude in Business Management, her career path ultimately led to several IT Director and Chief Information Officer positions in local, national, and international corporations. She has served the community in a number of volunteer capacities. Ms. Van Horik is a graduate of Leadership Long Beach, Class of 2000, and the Long Beach Nonprofit Partnership. She has volunteered at the Long Beach Day Nursery, Long Beach League for John Tracy Clinic, Long Beach City College Foundation Board of Governors, and the Long Beach Museum of Art.

Erick Verduzco-Vega is the President and CEO of the South Bay Latino Chamber of Commerce and the South Bay Latino Community Development Corporation. He also manages real estate and restaurant investments, and has served on the Los Angeles County Workforce Investment Board as its Vice Chair.
