TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit two separate Stipulations with Request for Award for approval by the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay
(1) $31,740 and also (2) separate authority to pay $46,230 for the claim of James Currier; and authority to pay (1) $184,204.12 with a life pension thereafter of $154.61 per week, and (2) $5,000 to resolve mileage and out-of-pocket expenses for the claim of Wesley Ferraccioli, in compliance with the Appeals Board Orders.

DISCUSSION
James Currier has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of his employment with the City of Long Beach. The Economic Development and Finance Committee on May 19, 2015, approved the submission to the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board of two Stipulations with Request for Award by the City and James Currier, based upon 1) a 31 percent disability rating. No monies will be due to Mr. Currier because the City is taking credit against the net third party settlement in the amount of $141,070.38 against all species of benefits including permanent disability, future medical treatment, and Mr. Currier's right to voucher, and 2) a 40 percent disability rating, with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary.

Wesley Ferraccioli has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of his employment with the City of Long Beach. The Economic Development and Finance Committee on May 19, 2015, approved the submission to the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board of Stipulations with Request for Award by the City and Wesley Ferraccioli, based upon an 80 percent disability rating with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary, and further provision for a Life Pension at the rate of $154.61 per week after the permanent disability has been fully paid, and 2) $5,000.00 to resolve mileage and out-of-pocket expenses.
