TITLE

Recommendation to receive the list of argument writer nominations for the November 4, 2008 General Election ballot measures and approve the designated persons or association persons pursuant to Section 1.24.020 of the Long Beach Municipal Code.

DISCUSSION

As required by Long Beach Municipal Code Section 1.24.020, the Mayor is submitting nominations for ballot argument writers for two proposals that will be featured on the November 4, 2008 General Election ballot. The first proposal is to adopt language modernizing the Long Beach Municipal Code regarding the Utility Users Tax (UUT).

The second proposal is for the Long Beach Infrastructure Reinvestment Act.

Approve recommendation.
