Recommendation to receive and file report on trip to Independent Cities Association seminar, July 10 - 13, 2008 in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
DISCUSSION
On July 10th, I traveled to Rancho Bernardo, California to participate in the Independent Cities Association (ICA) annual seminar. This seminar is a prime opportunity to receive information on critical issues facing cities in California. The ICA's seminar topics included "Clean Air and Saving Water: Is it Possible?," "Helping the Homeless in your City," and "Greening Your Trash Collection." This last seminar was particularly timely as the City Council is now studying green waste and alternative technologies to landfills.
