TITLE
Recommendation to request City Attorney to prepare an amendment to the Salary Resolution for Fiscal Year 2008.
DISCUSSION
This letter is a request that the City Council amend the Salary Resolution to reflect changes in the organization of the Office of the City Prosecutor. I have determined that the organization structure within the City Prosecutor Department needs to be changed to reflect the distribution of duties and responsibilities. Therefore, I am proposing the Salary Resolution be amended to create new position titles. While the amendments to the Salary Resolution add new position titles, these amendments reflect organization changes that will fit within the existing salary ranges. Attachment A summarizes the proposed changes to the Salary Resolution. The last change to the Salary Resolution by the City Council was on December 11,2007.
TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
City Council approval of this request for the preparation of an amendment to the Salary Resolution has been placed on the April 15, 2008 agenda to ensure implementation of the planned organization changes in a timely manner.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no significant fiscal impact from the requested amendments. The amendments will be supported from current appropriations.
