TITLE

DISCUSSION
On May 23,2006, State Farm's insured Priscilla Summers, and City's Public Works -- Traffic and Transportation vehicle driven by Erick Darren Johnson collided at the intersection of Carson and Bellflower in the City of Long Beach. As a result of the incident, Plaintiff's vehicle sustained major damages and after salvage was written off. After extensive discussion, a tentative settlement of $9,750 was reached.
 
The Economic Development and Finance Committee approved the proposed settlement on January 15, 2008.

On January 11, 2006, plaintiffs, two minors, ages 11 and 7, were struck by a third party vehicle while crossing northbound on Termino Avenue at Anaheim Street in Long Beach. The accident occurred just prior to the time that the city-employed crossing guard was scheduled to patrol the intersection. Plaintiffs' medical specials total approximately $112,000.00. Following settlement discussions with Plaintiffs' counsel, Plaintiffs agreed to accept $8,500 for Britney Whitfield and $5,500 for Varione Johnson, for a total settlement of $14,000. This settlement was approved by the Economic Development and Finance Committee on December 18, 2007.
