TITLE
Recommendation to request that the City Council vote to rescind the second reading of Ordinance No. ORD-07-0058, which amended PD-19 to allow a variety of temporary uses on the Boeing 717 site; and request that a new hearing for first reading of the ordinance be scheduled.

DISCUSSION
Recently the City Council approved an ordinance to change the permitted uses allowed on the Boeing 717 site. This ordinance, 07-0058, amended PD-19 to allow a variety of temporary uses. Since the approval of the ordinance, concern has been expressed over allowing one use without any limits or controls.  Further, our goal to create new jobs and economic development could be compromised if the entire site is dedicated to one use that creates a limited amount of jobs. Because of the concerns, I am requesting the City Council vote to rescind second reading of Ordinance 07-0058 and then schedule a new hearing for first reading of the ordinance. Prior to the first reading, I am asking staff to meet with Boeing to discuss the concerns and to work on appropriate amendments to the ordinance.
