City Council approval is requested to enter into an annual contract for furnishing and delivering plumbing supplies. The award combines the estimated annual requirements for the Citywide Departments to secure pricing at the highest possible discount levels available.

The bid was advertised on June 4, 2007 and 42 potential bidders downloaded the bid from the Purchasing website; four are Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBEs), six are Womenowned Business Enterprises (WBEs), three are Long Beach businesses, and four are certified Small Business Enterprises (SBEs). A bid document was also included in the Purchasing Division's weekly update of Open Bid Opportunities, which is sent to 31 local, minority and women's business groups.
