TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Manager to execute all necessary documents to receive and expend grant funding from the County of Los Angeles Real Estate Fraud Prosecution Grant; and increase appropriations in the General Grants Fund (SR) and in the Police Department (PD) by $98,000.  (Citywide)

DISCUSSION
On June 21, 2007, the Long Beach Police Department was awarded $98,000 in grant funding from the County of Los Angeles through the Real Estate Fraud Prosecution Grant (Real Estate 07) program. The grant provides funding for overtime hours assigned to real estate fraud investigation/prosecution and training for detectives. An appropriation increase for this grant in the amount of $98,000 is required, which will be fully offset by grant revenue.

This item was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Gary Anderson on July 24, 2007 and Budget Management Officer Victoria Bell on July 27,2007.
