TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit Compromise and Release for approval by the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay 1) $10,000 for Compromise and Release, and 2) separate authority to pay $10,000 to resolve vocational rehabilitation benefits, in compliance with the Appeals Board Order for claim of Kelvin Kennedy.
DISCUSSION
Kelvin Kennedy has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of his employment with the City of Long Beach. The Economic Development and Finance Committee on January 16, 2007, approved the submission to the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board of 1) Compromise and Release in the amount of $10,000.00 and 2) a $10,000.00 buy-out of vocational rehabilitation benefits by the City and Kelvin Kennedy.
