DISCUSSION
The International Association of Cities and Ports (IACP) was founded in France in the port-city of Le Havre in 1988. The Association includes nearly 180 ports, cities, business firms or public organizations.  The IACP network covers 32 countries and has a board of Directors representing 13 different nationalities. The Association's shared goals include improving the dialogue between cities and ports and share experience between port city communities.

The IACP has expertise in areas including urban development at the city-port interfaces, sustainable development and the environment and joint port-city project development.

This year's theme was "Urban territories, port territories, what future in common?" Discussion sessions included themes such as "Intergrating Environmental Questions: The reorganization of the city-port territory in a process of sustainable development" and "The Reinforcement of Social Coherence: An advantage for competitiveness and the attractiveness of city-port territories."
