TITLE

DISCUSSION

I would like to take this opportunity to report to the City Council on the HELO (Hispanic Elected Local Officials) Summit on September 28, 2006 through September 30, 2006 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

This Summit included Leadership training seminars, workshops, and a White House briefing on Immigration Reform. Additional topics at this forum included strengthening the constituents' financial base, educating the constituent about home ownership, and a special leadership symposium.

This forum covered many topics that will benefit the City of Long Beach and ensure that the needs of our city remain foremost with HELO.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.
