TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit Compromise and Releases for approval by the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay $65,000 for the claim of Cornell Bynum; $60,600 and $5,500 for a total payment of $66,100 for the claim of Paul Clement; $27,000 for the claim of Ernest Harvey; $38,500 and $5,000 to settle the Vocational Rehabilitation Benefits for a total of $43,500 for the claim of Juan Martinez; and $55,000 and $10,000 to settle the Vocational Rehabilitation Benefits for a total of $65,000 for the claim of Estella Simon in compliance with the Appeals Board Orders.
DISCUSSION
Cornell Bynum has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of his employment with the City of Long Beach. The Economic Development and Finance Committee on March 21,2006, approved the submission to the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board of Compromise and Release by the City and Cornell Bynum.
