TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to execute an agreement with Claims Staffing Solutions, Inc., to provide temporary workers' compensation claims examiners for the Workers' Compensation Section of the City Attorney's Office.
DISCUSSION
The City Council is requested to authorize the City Attorney to execute an agreement with Claims Staffing Solutions, Inc., for an amount not to exceed $250,000, in order that they may provide temporary technical personnel to handle workers' compensation claims for the City of Long Beach.
The office presently has several vacant claims examiner positions for which we are seeking permanent employees. This agreement will permit us to continue to provide full workers' compensation services to City employees in this interim period. Because of offsetting salary savings, it is not anticipated to result in an increase in the present budgeted amount for workers' compensation expenses.
