TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit Stipulations with Requests for approval by the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay $52,062.50, $21,400.20, and $7,500 to settle vocational rehabilitation benefits for a total of $80,962.70
for claim of Garry Kennedy in compliance with the Appeals Board Orders.
DISCUSSION
Garry Kennedy has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of his employment with the City of Long Beach. The Economic Development and Finance Committee on November 22, 2005 approved the submission to the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board of Stipulations with Request for Award by the City and Garry Kennedy, based upon a 55 percent disability rating, and a 30 percent disability rating, both with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary, and settlement of vocational rehabilitation benefits.
