DISCUSSION
When development occurs adjacent to a substandard public right-of-way, Section 21.47.020 of the Long Beach Municipal Code provides for dedication and improvement as necessary to bring the right-of-way into conformance with City standards. The construction of a 2-story, 4,500-square foot mortuary building at 3843 East Anaheim Street is conditioned with a requirement to provide an easement for widening the adjacent sidewalk
from 7.5 to 10 feet. The dedication to be made is shown on the attached Exhibit A.
This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Lisa Peskay Malmsten on June 6,2005. In conformance with the California Environmental Quality Act, Categorical Exemption No.
0304-24 was issued for this project.
