TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Manager to execute all documents with Maximus, Inc., to provide education and outreach services on behalf of State of California Department of Health Services to Medi-Cal eligible families and individuals. (Citywide)
DISCUSSION
The State of California Department of Health Services (State) has contracted with Maximus, Inc., (Maximus) to distribute Health Care Options (HCO) materials for education
about health insurance plans and to provide enrollment assistance services to Medi-Cal eligible families and individuals. Under this agreement, Maximus will assign a trained HCO Enrollment Services Representative one day a week at no charge to the City. The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) will provide the use of workspace and
office facilities for the Maximus representative. The agreement is in effect from February 1, 2005 through October 1, 2005, with annual optional one-year renewals thereafter.
This matter was reviewed by Senior Deputy City Attorney Donna F. Gwin and Budget Management Officer David Wodynski on June 23,2005.
