Amending Municipal Code Section 10.22.080 to restrict the parking of vehicles with "For Sale" signs on Los Coyotes Diagonal, between Woodruff Avenue and Gondar Avenue and on Woodruff Avenue. between Los Coyotes Diagonal to Senasac Avenue.
Background:
The 5th District Council office has received numerous complaints from residents regarding their concern over the number of vehicles "For Sale" being parked along the service road located on the north east corner of Los Coyotes Diagonal and Woodruff Avenue.
The intersection of Los Coyotes Diagonal and Woodruff Avenue is a very busy intersection, which has had a history of several accidents. To help in this matter, the traffic signal at the subject intersection was upgraded. With the increase of vehicles parking with "For Sale" signs on them, the area is again experiencing unsafe traffic conditions because motorists interrupt traffic flow to stop or slow down to see the vehicles "For Sale", which creates the potential for rear-end accidents.
SUGGESTED ACTION
Request City Attorney to prepare amendment to restrict parking of vehicles with "For Sale" signs on them along service roads on Los Coyotes Diagonal, between Woodruff Avenue and Gondar Avenue, and on Woodruff Avenue, between Los Coyotes Diagonal and Senasac Avenue.
