DISCUSSION
The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) requests approval to enter into contracts with Pacific West Health Services, Inc. dba Clinical Staffing Services, Maxim Healthcare Registry, Kay Anthony, N.P., Rosemarie Chaney, R.N., Carol Newton, R.N., Dr. Maryam Abdelnaby, Dr. Melvin Webb, Dr. Sophia Momand, Dr. Petar Mitrevski, and Dr. Ernest Williams for providing jail inmate physician and relief nursing services. Jail inmate physician and relief nursing services are necessary to be in compliance with California Code of Regulations, Title 15, Article 11, Medical/Mental Health Care Services, which indicates the requirements and responsibilities for jail health care services, such as ensuring the provision of emergency and basic health care services are available to all inmates.

The Request for Proposals (RFP) detailed a scope of services that will provide the full spectrum of services necessary for jail inmate physician and relief nursing services, including demonstrated experience, expertise and availability of personnel, capability, and hourly bill rates.
