TITLE
Recommendation to request City Manager, or designee, to accept an easement deed for street widening at 3701 E. Willow Street.  (District 5)

DISCUSSION
A dedicated turn lane along Willow Street was provided to the Long Beach Unified School District several years ago.  However, at that time, no right-of-way dedication was granted, resulting in the sidewalk and portions of the roadbed being located on School District property.  The School District has now agreed to dedicate the required right-of-way, and it is appropriate at this time to accept an easement deed for public street use. The area to be dedicated is shown on the attachment.

In conformance with the California Environmental Quality Act, Categorical Exemption No. CEP 140-11 was issued for this project.

This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Linda Trang on December 19, 2011 and by Budget Management Officer Victoria Bell on January 13, 2012.
