DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into contracts with GPA Consulting, Historic Resources Group, LLC, Ostashay & Associates Consulting, Page & Turnbull, Inc., Rincon Consultants, Inc., and Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc., for historic preservation consulting services on an as-needed basis. Services will include technical, architectural, design, historical guidance, and research.

The services provided through these contracts will assist the Development Services Department (Department) in maintaining the City of Long Beach’s (City) strong commitment to the preservation of its historic structures, heritage, and cultural resources through historic preservation initiatives and programs. The services support the program with Section 106 compliance for federally funded projects, compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards, development of regulatory frameworks, evaluation of architectural and culturally significant buildings and sites, historic resource surveys of neighborhoods, historic landmark designations, and preservation and maintenance plans for landmark buildings.
