TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit Compromise and Release for approval by Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay $9,000 in compliance with Appeals Board order for claim of Donald Smith, and $60,000 for claim of Granderson Wright.
DISCUSSION
Donald Wayne Smith has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of his employment with the City of Long Beach. The Economic Development and Finance Committee, on February 15,2005, approved the
submission to the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board of a ompromise and Release in the amount of $9,000.00 as settlement of Donald Smith's claim. We, therefore, request authority to submit said Compromise and Release for approval by the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay $9,000.00 in compliance with the Appeals Board order.
