TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay sum of $100,000 in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Pacific Rim Automation, Inc. v. City of Long Beach, Los Angeles County Superior Court Case No. BC671282.
DISCUSSION
Plaintiff alleges that the City breached a public works contract, and that the City wrongfully withheld records after plaintiff made a Public Records Act request.
Following extensive negotiations, plaintiff agreed to accept $100,000 inclusive of attorneys' fees and costs - as a full, global settlement of this case.
The settlement was discussed in closed session, and approved by the Economic Development and Finance Committee on February 18, 2020.
