TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $250, offset by the Fifth Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide

Activities Department to provide a donation to the Long Beach Camerata Singers for their summer concerts in the Fifth District; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $250 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

The Long Beach Camerata Singers is a non-profit organization with a mission statement of dedicating to excellence in choral music. They enrich the lives of our communities and performers through a broad spectrum of repertoire, innovative programming, and arts education. This summer, the Long Beach Camerata Singers will be hosting a community concert at Los Cerritos Park on August 14, 2022. The concert is free and open to the public. A $250 contribution will offset performance costs.

This matter has been reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on June 27, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution of $250 to Long Beach Camerata Singers to support their summer concerts. The total appropriation increase of $250 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of Fifth Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. This recommendation is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

STACY MUNGO COUNCILWOMAN,

FIFTH DISTRICT
