TITLE

Recommendation to authorize City Manager to execute an agreement with the Law Offices of Michael M. Peters, in the matters entitled Thomas Lee Goldstein, Case No. CV 04-9692 AHM (Ex), Leonard McSherry v. City of Long Beach, Case CV 02-03767-RGK (MANx), and Civil Service Disciplinary Hearings (Prop F).

DISCUSSION

Currently in place are agreements with Taubman, Simpson, Young & Sulentor for their services in the matters listed above.  Michael Peters has been handling these matters and effective July 1, 2008, will be practicing law as the "Law Offices of Michael M. Peters."  The City Council is therefore requested to authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with the Law Offices of Michael M. Peters for each of these matters and to cancel the current agreements with Taubman, Simpson, Young & Sulentor.
