TITLE
Recommendation to request City staff and the Belmont Shore Parking Commission to do the following:
1. Review and update previous parking studies;
2. Approach private parking lot owners to determine if opportunities
exist to lease parking lots at various times of the day;
3. Develop an analysis of the costs, benefits and impacts
associated with a shuttle service between beach/marina parking
parking lots and 2nd street; and
4. Hire a design specialist to review the City's existing parking lots
in Belmont Shore to determine if efficiency improvements can be
made.
DISCUSSION
On Tuesday, May 20th, the City Council met in Closed Session and voted not to continue with the escrow on the property at 205 LaVerne. While there is room for improvement regarding the parking situation in Belmont Shore, it is clear that other alternatives should be considered.
