TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute Amendment No. 27 to Historical Site Lease No. 24291 with Rancho Los Alamitos Foundation to provide for the annual management fee of $502,136 for lease year 2023-2024. (District 4)
DISCUSSION
On October 3, 1995, the City Council authorized Historical Site Lease No. 24291 (Lease) with the Rancho Los Alamitos Foundation (Foundation) to manage, operate, and interpret the City of Long Beach's (City) historical site known as Rancho Los Alamitos Historic Ranch and Gardens (Rancho). As stated in the Lease, the Foundation is responsible for enhancing the educational value of the Rancho through public and community activities, assemblies, and visits. The Foundation maintains the gardens, residential and agricultural structures, interiors and furnishings, fixtures, utilities, carpeting, and equipment.
In consideration of the Foundation's Lease to manage the educational, historical, and community service aspects of the Rancho, the City) pays the Foundation an annual management fee. The management fee for Fiscal Year 2024 (FY 24) is $502,136. The fee includes the base contract amount of $470,000 and $32,136 to support landscape maintenance and will match the amount provided for Rancho Los Cerritos. The management fee with the landscape support was included in the FY 24 Adopted Budget. A Lease Amendment is required to memorialize the proposed management fee. All other terms and conditions of the Lease will remain unchanged.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
City Council action is requested on October 17, 2023, to authorize the execution of Amendment No. 27 to Lease No. 24291.
FISCAL IMPACT
