TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $5,000, offset by the Fourth Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a contribution to Bridge the Gap Tennis Management in support of the Free Youth Tennis Play Day; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $5,000 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, Bridge the Gap Tennis Management hosted a free youth tennis play day at the El Dorado Park Tennis Center in Council District 4. The event was free and open to the public, and included free tennis court usage, racquet demos, and lunch for the participants. A $5,000 contribution to Bridge the Gap Tennis Management will support the organization’s efforts in promoting youth exercise, outdoor recreation, and positive interaction.

This matter has been reviewed by Budget Analyst Joe R. Guerrero on October 9, 2023.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution to Bridge the Gap Tennis Management. The total appropriation increase of $5,000 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease in appropriation of the Fourth Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. This recommendation is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff time beyond the normal budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

DARYL SUPERNAW COUNCILMEMBER,

FOURTH DISTRICT
